Family Life

Small Students In Class edit

Families in our world are suffering. It's all over the news, and it’s likely closer than you think. Perhaps, some of your friends come from broken homes or blended families. Your peers question the value of marriage, when they find no fault in moving in together. Substance and domestic abuse threaten other families.  People all around are STRESSED, and it impacts families.  Any change like death, job loss, retirement, and illness can shake a home. Think of your own family. Yes, even less “dysfunctional” families have their own set of problems and questions.

Is God calling you to serve families in the church, hospital or community? Our Family Life faculty and students see the needs in the world around them and want to do something about it.

As a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) you can serve:

  • In the church as a Director of Family Life Ministry (DFLM), working as a
      • Children’s Minister

      • Minister to Senior Adults
  • In the community  in the area of human services at an social service agency
  • In the hospital as a Child Life Specialist.

Family Life graduates receive professional training to develop and implement programming that equips and supports healthy relationships for marriage and the family. Classroom studies, projects, and fieldwork supply them with the tools and resources to help change the world — one family at a time.
